Morehead Planetarium and Science Center in Chapel Hill will host a teen science cafe on Friday.

The topic for this regular series for teens ages 13 to 18 is how inequality affects people's thinking and behavior. Dr. Keith Payne from UNC will talk about new scientific research on inequality and its effect on people's lives. Pizza is served at 5:30 p.m. The program starts at 6 p.m. It's free. No registration is required. The next cafe is Feb. 14.
Also, in Morehead's monthly newsletter, there was mention of a NASA contest for high school students. The contest asks high school students to create videos about science for young children. Winners will have their videos posted on NASA's website and work with NASA producers this summer to make an earth science feature video, according to Morehead.
