Morehead Planetarium plans second New Year's Eve family event

Posted December 18, 2014

Morehead Planetarium and Science Center waded into New Year's Eve activities last year with a family event that turned out to be immensely popular.

They're doing it again. Night Lights: A Family New Year's Eve celebration is set for 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., Dec. 31. The evening includes activities, performances and a kid's countdown under the stars (but before their bedtimes!).

Activities include special shows in Morehead's fulldome planetarium; outdoor activities; crafts from Kidzu Children's Museum; Glow Hula interactive play; science demonstrations; and treats and hot drinks.

Registration is required for this. Tickets are $5 per person. As part of the registration process, participants will need to sign up for one of five special shows in the fulldome theater. The sessions start at 3 p.m.
