Morehead Planetarium and Science Center's summer schedule is up and running.

The Chapel Hill destination with exhibits, science presentations and planetarium shows is now open Tuesday through Sunday. Shows include the popular "Magic Tree House Space Mission" on weekdays and Saturdays and "One World, One Sky: Big Bird's Adventure" on Fridays and Saturdays. It's perfect for younger children. And there are more.

Click here for the schedule, which runs until April 25.

Morehead has some new things on tap for this summer. They include "Dynamic Earth," a new fulldome planetarium show that "takes you deep under the ocean to learn how the sun's energy affects air and water currents," Morehead's website says.

A new exhibit called "A Sticky Situation" explores how UNC scientists are working to locate and remove coal tar deposits around the world.

And Morehead has a new Science LIVE! presentation called "All Systems Go," which takes a close look at the human body and how it functions.

Morehead Planetarium is on Franklin Street in Chapel Hill.
