Raleigh, N.C. — Unsettled weather will stick around for one more day as fall kicks off with warmer than average temperatures.
Heavy rain began moving out of the Triangle Wednesday afternoon but WRAL meteorologist Mike Maze said that showers would remain in the forecast overnight and throughout Thursday.
The cloud cover on Thursday will mean a fourth day of cooler temperatures, but Maze said the comfortable weather will be gone when the skies dry on Friday.
"it will warm up quickly once we get rid of the clouds," he said.
Friday's forecast high will be 85 degrees while the high temperature could climb to 88 on Saturday. Temperatures are forecast to remain in the 80s through next week, and Maze said it could be a while before the weather starts feeling like fall.
"It may be the first or second week in October before we begin to cool down," he said.
