CARTHAGE, N.C. — A Carthage woman accused of buying and selling prescription pain relievers was being held Monday at the Moore County Detention Center on more than $1 million secured bond.

Deputies charged Debora Carol Kirk, 39, of 311 Martin St., with 14 felony offenses related to possession and sale of controlled substances.

Undercover officers purchased and seized 73 dosage units of Methadone and 21 dosage units of Xanax from Kirk over the course of a two-month investigation, authorities said.

Kirk also faces charges she misrepresented herself to obtain the pills and that she failed to appear in court on a charge of prescription fraud.
