Moore County men convicted of voter fraud

Two Moore County voters were convicted of fraud for votes cast in the 2016 presidential election that were ineligible.

CARTHAGE, N.C. — Two Moore County voters were convicted of fraud for votes cast in the 2016 presidential election.

According to the Moore County District Attorney's Office, Dalton Shane Smith, of Cameron, and Edward Green, of Southern Pines, voted although they were ineligible to vote.

Both men were convicted felons and, by law, anyone convicted of a felony forfeits their right to vote.
