— A Moore County man faces 30 sex and assault charges in connection with the alleged abuse of at least two young girls, according to the sheriff's office.

Investigators believe that Charles Andrew Furr, 33, of 121 Digger Drive in Vass, abused a 12-year-old and a 15-year-old girl, Capt. Richard Talbert said.

Jail records show that the sheriff's office first filed charges against Furr in February 2010, and the most recent batch of charges was filed on May 5.

All together, Furr faces nine counts each of sexual battery and indecent liberties with a child, eight counts of assault on a female and one count each of statutory rape, attempted statutory rape, attempted statutory sexual offense and assault on a child under age 12.

He was being held in the Moore County jail Thursday under a $550,000 secured bond. He was set to appear in court July 5.

"Jail records show that the sheriff's office first filed charges against Furr in February 2010, and the most recent batch of charges was filed on May 5."

    From FEBRUARY 2010!?!

And we're just hearing about it NOW!?!

How does waiting or withholding details on stuff like this protect OTHER children who may live around him???

Praying justice is served, but not feeling it will be with the kid gloves our justice system wears nowadays.

How many young girls or victims does it take before we step up as a society and legal system to finally put repeat offenders away.

You have to ask yourself why this is not already in place? What sane person would vote against locking up a child molester for life? My thoughts are just how many of these lawmakers are guilty of this?

I think that prisons should have special jumpsuits for child molesters to wear that make their crimes known and house them in general population while the guards take a long lunch.
These are the real monsters our innocent children have to fear and as a parent looking under the bed or in the closet doesn't make them disappear.
