RALEIGH, N.C. — A Moore County man has been charged with sexually abusing a Raleigh child over the course of nine months, according to an arrest warrant.

Victor Almanza, 20, of 108 Holly Place in West End, faces charges of first-degree rape of a child and indecent liberties with a child. The victim was younger than 13 years old, according to the warrant.

The warrant states that the abuse took place between December 2009 and last August. A warrant for Almanza's arrest was issued in October, and he was arrested Friday.

Almanza was placed in the Wake County jail under a $550,000 secured bond. Court records stipulate that if he meets bond, he can have no contact with the victim and must have direct supervision if he's in contact with anyone under age 17.

His first court appearance was set for Monday.
