Moore County hires Grimesey to lead school system
The Moore County Board of Education named Dr. Robert "Bob" Grimesey superintendent to lead the country school system. He'll start in the role on July 1.

Grimesey has a long career in school administration, including stints as superintendent of Orange County and Alleghany County schools in Virginia. He started as a teacher of high school social studies in Harrisonburg, Va.
Grimesey got his bachelor's and master's degrees from James Madison University and his doctorate from the University of Virginia.
Upon accepting the position, Grimesey said, “I am very honored by the Moore County School Board’s trust. I am inspired by the board’s ‘Growing to Greatness’ vision and by the foundation for action that has been built by Dr. Spence and the entire Moore County Schools family of employees and community partners. We will now build upon that foundation and fulfill our mission to provide engaging educational experiences that will enable and inspire our students to acquire and refine the knowledge and skills they will need to be successful citizens in the 21st century.”
