Monday Wrap: Let's make a deal

Posted June 19

— House and Senate budget negotiators have settled on a $23 billion spending plan for fiscal 2017-18 that includes raises for teachers and state workers and tax cuts.

Details of the budget were still unavailable late Monday, but lawmakers expect to have the plan approved by the end of the week.

Other than the budget, the Senate gave final approval to a repeal of Orange County's impact fees on developers, while the House passed legislation that would require a driver retraining course for people who have had their licenses suspended for moving violations.
