Ummm...I meant that the girls like the veggie bacon floppy - not floopy. :-)

pss3 - we nuke the Morningstar veggie bacon. My girls like it floopy and hubby and I like it more crunchy so I cook ours separate. It's not like real bacon - no doubt about it. Turkey bacon is much more similar to pork bacon. But the veggie bacon has much less fat and I actually really like the taste and so do the kids.

Thanks to everyone for sharing your awesome menus this week! There are so many delicious meals.

Nakabi - I can't wait to meet you on Thursday at the workshop!

Thanks Oxy -- I am so glad to hear that. I have wanted to find that a long time for cheese steaks. :)

LAX- HT actually carries shaved steak. I've purchased it at Cameron Village, 401/1010, Edwards Mill, and I'm sure another HT but I can't remember which. It comes prepacked in a tray, usually 1-1.25 lbs per package. Sometimes it's marked shaved beef. It's not cheap, but every once in a while I'll find it under $6/lb, and calzone makes me happy, so I'll buy it.

nakabi- Steak-ums are these weird rectangles of raw meat, separated by wax paper so you can pull out as few as you need, that you fry up for sandwiches. Nowhere near as good as actual shaved steak, but for the price I'll get over it. They're sold in the freezer section, and they're convenient. Every once in a while I really miss having sub shops that make steak and egg subs, and a Steak-um is a lot easier than dividing pounds of shaved steak into single servings.

nakabi, I want to come over for dinner on Friday! Actually, all of your meals look great and very healthy too (ok well maybe minus the peanut butter pie:)

Faye do you use the morningstar veggie bacon? How do you cook it? I bought some and tried cooking it in a frying pan and it tasted very fake to me. Had kinda of a gummy texture. Not sure if it was the way I cooked it or if that is how it tastes. Might be sticking with my turkey bacon, lol!

Our meals:

Monday- Penne pasta with homemade tomato sauce with the last 3 tomatoes from my plants (the frost has just about killed it off).

Tuesday- Apple glazed ham steak, nac and cheese, green beans.

Wednesday- Chicken soft tacos, rice, and corn.
