Silver Alert

— The N.C. Center for Missing Persons canceled a Silver Alert Wednesday night after authorities found a missing Raleigh man at the Wake County jail.

Detectives said they discovered that Jesse Harrison Mcleod, 24, had been arrested. His charges were not immediately available.

Developed in 2007, Silver Alert is a system to quickly notify the public about missing, endangered adults who suffer from dementia or other cognitive impairments, such as Alzheimer's disease.

It also allows caregivers and nursing homes to report a person missing. In the past, only a family member could report an adult missing.

With his young age, the Silver Alert must be due to his mental capacity. He did something that got him picked up but maybe he was unable to identify himself. Maybe he was in an altercation of some kind and got mugged leaving him with no I.D.

Good think law enforcement is in tune with the Silver Alert.. maybe they would have known earlier that this guy was in lockdown.
