RALEIGH, N.C. — A 13-year-old boy was found unharmed nearly three hours after his family reported him missing, officials said.

The boy, who has autism, was playing in the back yard of his home off Creedmoor Road, but did not respond when he was called in for dinner, said Phyllis Stephens, spokeswoman for the Wake County Sheriff's Office.

Relatives reported him missing around 7 p.m., and state troopers and neighbors helped search for the boy.

He was found safe on Mount Vernon Church Road around 9:45 p.m., Stephens said.
