Silver Alert canceled for missing Greensboro woman
The North Carolina Center for Missing Persons canceled a Silver Alert Friday morning for a missing Greensboro woman.
Posted — UpdatedThe alert was issued for Rosetta Chandler West about 1 a.m., and it was canceled about eight hours later at the request of the Greensboro Police Department.
No other information about West was available.
Developed in 2007, the Silver Alert system quickly notifies the public about missing endangered people who suffer from dementia or other cognitive impairments, such as Alzheimer's disease.
It also allows caregivers and nursing homes to report a person missing. In the past, only a family member could report an adult missing.
