A teenager think they know it all and the parents don't know a thing. I have been a teenager once and I can honestly say I did not know how much my parents really loved me until I had my own child. My parents always said just wait until you have your own children and then you will remember everything I told you.. I never pulled this stunt though because I for 1 knew better and I would not be able to sit for along time. Praying that the parents and the teenager will work through this so it will not happen again...

That is a heartwrenching experience that I have had. I had a rebellious child; but it sounds as if this guy was homesick but he knows he should have just asked his parents to stay with friends. This generation X Y Q or whatever is all about the 'me'.

"It sickens me that a 17 year old who goes to his friend's house after an argument with his parents makes the news. It's irresponsible to spend time on things like this when there might actually be useful information to broacast that could affect lives."

    Oh, grow up!

Now that they got him back, they can kick him out in less than a year. Bet they can't wait.

When I was about 10, I threatened my mom with running away, and I went out on the front porch.....In about 5 minutes, she opened the door and gave me a stick with a bag of sundries (toothbrush, comb, underwear, etc.) tied to the end of it (yes, like a hobo), and asked me where I had decided to go......I looked at the horizon for awhile, and then said, "it's getting a little dark now, maybe I'll do it tomorrow.." That was my one and only "running away" adventure......

I agree with Twittyfan....what were the "friends" parents thinking or where were they that during the school year a kid comes to visit their children...and no questions get asked...the Clayton parents weren't contacted !

I once thought of running away...that was until my mom said that she would beat me within an inch of my life so I would have a reason to run away.

    Never thought of it again.

Now mom wants me to move out on my own after all these years...just joking.
