The family of a Durham woman who was missing for nearly a month said Monday she has been located.

George O’Briant, the son of Pearlie O’Briant Johnson, said his 65-year-old mother is safe.

“Our prayers have been answered, and we would like to thank everyone for their concern and support,” he said.

Details on what happened to his mother were not immediately available.

Family members were worried after they hadn’t heard from Pearlie O’Briant Johnson since Feb. 5, when she last spoke to her daughter. She was last seen near North Carolina State University in Raleigh.

George O'Briant reported his mother missing a few days later, but the North Carolina Center for Missing Persons didn't issue a Silver Alert for Johnson until Feb. 22 after police determined that she might have some onset of dementia.

"How much money was spent looking for this woman?" -- Karmageddon

There are two kinds of people in this world. One type cares about others ... about society ... about humanity. The other cares only for themselves. This is a prime example of the latter.

Thank the Good Lord!! About time we here some good news!! Glad she is safe!!

Its the kind of reporting that keeps you coming back for more. Cliff-hanging, edge-of your seat clinging, nail-biting- method of reporting And it works!

Good news...what a relief to family and friends. If she does have dementia, how scary it must have been for her (and family).

Wonderful that she has been found!
