I found milk for as low as $1.09/gallon today!
The Kroger in Garner apparently ordered too much milk for the sale last week and today (Thursday, 9/22), I saw select gallons for $1.49 each. They included skim and 2% milk. There was lots of skim milk on the shelf.
BUT, in a dairy case near the registers, there were gallons of milk marked down to $1.09 each! They do not expire until September 30 so you know I bought some at that awesome price!
You may want to check your local Kroger to see if they also ended up with so much milk after the sale last week that they marked it down.
Milk can actually be frozen if you want to stock up. See more information on freezing milk at EatByDate.com. I tried freezing milk a few times when the kids were young and the taste changes a bit once thawed. The taste wasn't terrible, but we prefer not to freeze it anymore.
