Military expert returns to site where bombs nearly destroyed NC
On Jan. 24th, 1961, a military plane broke apart over Wayne County. That plane was carrying two exceedingly powerful hydrogen bombs about, 250 times more powerful than those dropped in Japan, which fell from the sky and could have obliterated the state of North Carolina.
