RALEIGH, N.C. — After a frosty morning, Monday will see "wall-to-wall sunshine" and cool temperatures, and then both clouds and temperatures will increase throughout the week, WRAL meteorologist Aimee Wilmoth said.

"The sun moves back in Monday, plus, we have a big warm-up," Wilmoth said.

The work week starts with a "nice return of the sun" and a high around 50 degrees, she said.

The mercury will climb to the mid 50s Tuesday and to above the 60-degree mark Wednesday. By next weekend, the daily highs will be in the upper 60s.

"Some of the models are now starting to point towards 70 next week, so we might actually be bumping up those temperatures Saturday and Sunday," Wilmoth said.

Most of the week stays in a "very calm weather pattern," she said. Starting Wednesday, the cloud cover will start to thicken.

"Friday, we could have a bit of rain, but I think until then, we'll be dry," Wilmoth said.
