    Ah, selective patriotism.

"At the very least, the Obama's could have shown propper respect to the British Prime Minister instead of insulting him with a gift basket of CD's and no official state dinner (as is customary when an allied leader visits)." - Worland

First people cry about the money that is being spent on offical dinners/parties that the Obama's have been hosting, now people cry because someone didn't get a dinner. I'm not Obama's biggest supporter, but dang, he can't seem to catch a break with some people.

This is America you're acting like this is the first time we have insulted someone. We've done that to whole countries so who is a prime minister.

True...but it isn't often the President insults a long-time ally.

"for the first time in my adult life, I'm not proud of my First Lady"

And she is going there to meet with spouses of the military and speak to the agencies that provide service and support to the military. Why would you find that a bad thing? I mean, you run around talking about what how "patriotic" people need to do, how folks should support the troops. She is doing exactly that and you criticize. Maybe you aren't that patriotic after all. Guess you practice selective patriotism. Interesting.

Reading the British papers yesterday, they were quite insulted by the treatment the Prime Minister received from the Obama White House,

are you proud that we invaded another country without cause?
are you proud that as a result hundreds of thousands of innocent men, women and children are dead?
are you proud that as a result thousands of the troops you profess to support are dead?
are you proud that thousands of our troops will be crippled, physically and mentally for life?
i'm not proud of any of the above. and i am ashamed of the country we apparently have become, if most of the comments on this board are representative of the rest of our counrty. personally, i hope they are not.
i didn't vote for obama or mccain, they're both part of the same war machine. i think the cult of obama is a bit scary. but the bashing of his wife is nothing more than thinly veiled racism. we are in a world of trouble and we need to pull together if we are to survive.

It's one thing to complain, but I sense down right hatred in these negative comments

So, there was no hatred in the comments about Bush? Meadow muffins
