Raleigh, N.C. — WRAL News anchor/reporter Michelle Marsh is kicking up her heels for Dancing Like the Stars, a Raleigh dancing competition that raises money for charity.
The friendly competition raises money for the National Inclusion Project, which offers programs for special needs children.
The contest will take place in April during the Southern Women's Show.
"It is a lot of work, but it's also a lot of fun," Marsh says.
She says her partner, André, has been very patient as she learns all the steps.
"I go back each week and it's like, 'Oh, what did we learn last week?'" Marsh jokes. "It's hard to remember all the steps."
Marsh is not an absolute beginner – she has trained in tap, ballet and modern dance – but she is new to ballroom.
"Your body moves in an unusual way that you're just not used to, because I've danced before, but never ballroom dancing," Marsh says.
