Mega Swagbucks Friday, bonus sign-up & new Extravaganza Wednesday!

Posted May 17, 2013

It is Mega Swagbucks Friday and today is the day they award larger than normal Swagbucks just for using the Swagbucks site when you search for information on the Internet. If you are not signed up for Swagbucks, you should be! It's a super easy way to earn giftcards to places like CVS, Starbucks and Amazon.com.

Swagbucks has been nice enough to extend the new member Bonus Sign-Up code through the month of May! If you are new to Swagbucks, be sure to use the code below to get an extra 70 Swagbucks when you sign up.

There will be a new Extravaganze called MAYkeover Madness starting on Wednesday. You'll be able to earn an additional 70 Swag Bucks with 7 different codes. They have even provided a schedule of when the new codes will be released! See the picture in the box above for the details. I LOVE that they are making it so easy to get those extra Swag Bucks!

New to Swagbucks?

How do you get these super Swagbucks? Each time you need to search for something online, use the Swagbucks search engine on their website (instead of Google, for instance). I actually have the Swag Bucks toolbar installed on my desktop and it places a search box right on my screen making it super easy to search. There are also a number of other ways to earn Swag Bucks including taking surveys, answering polls, watching videos and more.

If you are on Twitter or Facebook, Swagbucks also posts codes that will earn you additional Swag Bucks. Once you find a code, you then copy and paste the code into the Swag Code box at the top of the homepage of Swagbucks HERE.

You are welcome to post the codes you find right here on this blog to share with everyone else.

If you are new to Swagbucks, I bet you are wondering what you do with the Swagbucks points you earn. They can be cashed in for gift cards, books, magazines, movies and much more! I usually cash mine in for CVS or Amazon.com gift cards. A $5 Amazon gift card code is only 450 Swag Bucks and a $5 Starbucks or CVS gift card is 500 Swag Bucks. It's such an easy way to score some freebies while doing the same searches you already do.

New member bonus Swagbucks sign-up code!

It's free to sign up for Swagbucks and only takes a minute. New members usually get 30 Swagbucks when you sign up HERE but through the end of May, you can score an additional 70 Swag Bucks for a total of 100 Swag Bucks! To get the bonus Swag Bucks, click the text that reads "I have a sign up code" during registration and then enter the code: SMARTSPEND70 to get the bonus.

If you happen to be awake at 3:00 am ET (Midnight PT) that is when everything resets. They tend to have higher point values and more ways to win points in the wee small hours of the morning.

    Good advice, Stephanie! Thanks.

Ever since I bought a (non-contract) smartphone in November, I've found it easier than ever to earn Swagbucks. SBTV mobile is a "gimme" for 50 SBs per day -- and by itself it pays for the data package on my phone, though I don't use the data for watching SBTV mobile! And this week they introduced another smartphone app for Android, called EntertaiNow, which is good for another 26 SBs each day. I've been fortunate to make my goal every day so far this year *knock on wood* by doing not much more than really basic stuff. I agree that the search wins seem to come fewer and farther between, but typically I get a really good win just about the time I'm getting disgusted. :-)

Thanks, Faye. I'd appreciate hearing anything you find out. I'm not giving up on Swagbucks quite yet, and, in fact, I'd probably be willing to work within the new parameters if I knew what they were! It seems that there are so many changes that it is hard to know how to maximize your time.

I haven't gotten any extra points for searching today... 10 points each this morning and this afternoon. In the past on a Friday I've gotten close to 30 after a few searches.

I am happy to pass on your concerns to my SB contact and see what he says. Thanks for the added detail.

I don't do surveys, but I never have. I also don't do referrals But in the past I was able to make goal by searching, watching swagbucks TVs, printing coupons, and watching video ads. Something has really changed there in the past couple of weeks. People are talking about the search feature being broken, but I'm not convinced that's not part of their strategy. I just wish they'd maybe explain what they're doing, especially in regards to giving people different goals. It used to be that everyone had the same goal, too. That seemed more fair to me. But I understand Swagbucks is a business, and they will do what they want to do. And I can either participate under their new terms, or not participate at all. I just wish I understood why they're making these changes.

Are you taking any of the surveys, watching the SBTV videos, referring all your friends? Those are ways to meet your goal more easily. I don't always make my daily goal, but I make it enough of the time to earn GC's because I am doing alot more than just searching to earn SB's. You can also send them an e-mail to ask or post what you wrote below on their Facebook page.

I've not been impressed with Swagbucks lately -- they've made it so much harder to earn. They are giving different people different goals, and the search feature has really shut down on awarding Swagbucks. I didn't even get one this morning. That has never happened to me before on a Friday. I rarely get offers anymore, and nothing in my habits have changed. I'm guessing I'm just not in their desired demographics? I turned 50 a couple of months ago so maybe that is the problem, LOL. When I first joined last year through your link, I had lots of videos to watch for 2 points, and now nothing. I'm probably going to stop using them after I get my next gift card. I'm kind of disappointed, although in a way it's kind of freeing, too. I'm just frustrated because I can rarely make goal anymore. Do you know anything about these changes to Swagbucks? Or is it just me?
