RALEIGH, N.C. — Fans of thriller novelists John Grisham and John Hart will get a chance to meet the writers on Friday at Meymandi Concert Hall in downtown Raleigh.
Meymandi Concert Hall in Raleigh turned 10 years old on Feb. 23, 2011.
The event, titled Thrillers, will invite the public to explore the authors' imagination and inspiration behind their award-winning books.

Hart, a Durham native, attended Davidson College and wrote novels "The Hush" and "The Last Child." He received the Edgar Award for Best First Novel by an American Author along with several others awards. Grisham's legal-based novels, some of which have been adapted into films, have been translated into 48 languages and sold more than 300 million copies.

At 6 p.m., advanced ticket holders can meet the authors at an exclusive reception, with the theater opening for general admission at 6:30.

Following the reception, D.G. Martin, host of UNC-TV’s “North Carolina Bookwatch," will moderate the event, and paleontologist Lindsay Zanno from the N.C. Museum of Natural Sciences will reveal “thrillers” from the world of dinosaurs. The discussion will be centered around the need to blur boundaries between the humanities and the sciences.

Ticket information

Tickets range from $30 to $80 with proceeds benefiting Friends of the N.C. Museum of Natural Sciences in support of dinosaur research and education at the museum. A signed copy of The Hush is included with admission. Museum members receive 10 percent off their tickets.
WRAL is a proud sponsor of this event.
