FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A bag of supplies fell from a medical helicopter last week, and police on Thursday asked for the public to help locate the missing supplies.

A Lifeflight helicopter from Duke University Hospital was taking a patient from Cape Fear Valley Hospital to Duke University Hospital last Saturday afternoon when a blue duffel bag filled with pediatric medical supplies fell out, police said. The bag hadn't been secured properly before takeoff, they said.

The helicopter was in the area east of the All American Freeway along Raeford Road towards Robeson Street when the bag fell out, police said. Some people saw the incident and called the Fayetteville Police Department, but officers weren't able to find the bag.

Anyone who finds the bag is asked to call 911 to report it, and a police officer will come pick it up.
