House Bill 2
As negative response continues to pour in over North Carolina's House Bill 2, Gov. Pat McCrory on Sunday will make an appearance on NBC's "Meet the Press" with Chuck Todd.

The weekly national news roundtable airs on WRAL-TV at 10 a.m.

On Friday, renowned acrobatic troupe Cirque du Soleil became the latest group to cancel scheduled performances in North Carolina because of the law, which requires people to use the public bathroom that corresponds to the gender listed on their birth certificates, excludes gays and transgender people from protections against employment and public accommodations discrimination and bars cities and counties from extending such protections to them.

McCrory responded to criticism this week with an executive order that reaffirmed the need for the bathroom provision of the law.

At the same time, however, he expanded discrimination protections to gay and transgender state workers and asked the legislature to roll back the portion of the law that eliminated the ability for workers to sue for discrimination in state court.
