McCrory's in Orlando for GOP governors' gathering

Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2016 -- Gov. Pat McCrory has found time to get away from wildfires, floods and a yet-to-be-decided re-election vote. He's in Orlando for the Republican Governor's Association meeting.

Wildfires are raging out of control in western North Carolina. Vast sections of eastern North Carolina are still recovering from flooding and other Hurricane Matthew-related damage. Provisional ballots and issues concerning election night-issues and the still-undecided race for governor are being reviewed in each of North Carolina's 100 counties.  Where is Gov. Pat McCrory? He's in Orlando for the annual Republican Governors Association meeting at the Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek.

The featured event for Wednesday's session is a panel: “Best States For Business: Behind The Headlines.” It will feature New Mexico Gov. Susana Martinez, Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey, Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal, Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott and Utah Gov. Gary Herbert. McCrory and the other governors had some time with Vice President-elect Mike Pence, according to a photo that was sent out via Pence's Twitter feed.  Is McCrory trying to get Pence's ear to angle for a Donald Trump administration job, perhaps in the Department of Transportation, if the vote count in the governor's race doesn't shift his way?
