FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — The Cumberland County school system on Monday named a veteran Max Abbott Middle School educator as its 2013-14 Teacher of the Year.

Amy Noble, a sixth-grade English, language arts, science and social studies teacher, was honored during an annual banquet at the Crown Center Ballroom in Fayetteville.

"I think my greatest contribution to education is that I truly love each and every student for the wonders they bring to my life every day," Noble said. "I appreciate and respect their differences and personality traits that make them unique."

In her 20 years of teaching in several North Carolina school districts, Noble has received the Teacher of the Year distinction three times.
