— Gov. Jack Markell is focusing on jobs and career readiness as he travels up and down the state.

Markell was scheduled to join Indian River School District officials in Sussex County on Tuesday to urge high school seniors to continue their education and training after graduation. One of Markell's priorities has been helping more students successfully transition to college or career training after high school.

Markell also was scheduled to speak Tuesday at the annual Kent County Economic Summit on building on economic progress in Delaware.

Following his Kent County stop, Markell was to travel to Wilmington to speak about progress in the state's Pathways to Employment program, which helps low-income teens and young adults with disabilities prepare for work and find jobs.
