The Town of Cary Police Department is inviting the public to come out for an evening to learn more about safety and community unity.

Cary's annual Night Out is set for 5 p.m. to 8 p.m,. May 1, along the town's downtown streets.

The Town of Cary Police Department is inviting the public to come out for an evening to learn more about safety and community unity.

Police, fire and emergency personnel will be on hand to talk about the town's various safety initiatives. There will be K9 demonstrations and free crime prevention assessments. Officers and firefighters will be competing in strength and agility competitions. A children's zone will include police and fire vehicles to explore.

The evening includes free food while supplies last. You can find it on Chatham Street from Harrison Avenue to Academy Street.
