Marines returning from Afghanistan stuck at RDU

Nearly 300 Marines returning to North Carolina from Afghanistan were stuck at Raleigh-Durham International Airport Wednesday night due to slick roads.
The troops, on their way to Cherry Point Marine Corp Air Station, will spend Wednesday night in the Triangle and will be cared for by staff and volunteers of the USO of North Carolina.
“The USO of NC is proud of our tradition to be with our troops every step of the way, even in winter storms,” says John Falkenbury, president of the organization. “It is our mission and an honor to provide for these troops who have given so much in service to our country.”
The Marines are planning to head to Cherry Point on Thursday.
