Marine found dead in motel overdosed

A Camp Lejeune Marine who was found dead in a Cary motel two months ago overdosed, according to an autopsy report.

CARY, N.C. — A Camp Lejeune Marine who was found dead in a Cary motel two months ago overdosed, according to an autopsy report.

The body of William Nicholas Tripp, 20, of Keller, Texas, was found at the Days Inn, at 1716 Walnut St., on March 15.

Cocaine, morphine and ingredients from over-the-counter medications were found in his system, according to a toxicology report from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Chapel Hill.

The autopsy report listed the cause of death as cocaine and heroin toxicity.
