Marine enlistee dies in motorcycle wreck

A 19-year-old man who recently enlisted in the Marine Corps died after motorcycle wreck on Wednesday night, police said.

ROANOKE RAPIDS, N.C. — A 19-year-old man who recently enlisted in the Marine Corps died after motorcycle wreck on Wednesday night, police said.

Detectives said Cameron Clark, of Roanoke Rapids, tried to perform a burn out in the parking lot of the Forest Hills Shopping Center shortly after 9 p.m.

Clark lost control of his motorcycle and was thrown from it, police detective Sgt. Adam Bondarek said.

Clark was airlifted to Pitt Memorial, where he died.

Bondarek said Clark had enlisted with the Marines and was preparing for boot camp.
