Marine charged after 16-year-old killed at Onslow County bus stop
A New River Air Station Marine has been charged for killing a high school student who was waiting at an Onslow County bus stop Monday morning.
Posted — UpdatedJACKSONVILLE, N.C. — A New River Air Station Marine has been charged for killing a high school student who was waiting at an Onslow County bus stop Monday morning.
Staff Sgt. Joshua Block, 27, was charged with involuntary manslaughter and felony passing a stopped school bus causing death, according to NBC affiliate WITN.
Authorities said 16-year-old David Palacia crossed the road in front of his house to catch his school bus when Block hit him. Palacio was a student at Dixon High School.
Troopers said two adults and some students on the bus saw the crash happen.
