Marbles, UNC-TV gear up for 'Just For Kids Guest Star Day' at the fair
Bob the Builder, Daniel Tiger, WordGirl and more UNC-TV favorites will visit the fair on Saturday.

One of my favorite spots for kids at the N.C. State Fair is at the UNC-TV and Marbles Kids Museum tent next to Dorton Arena.
You can read more about it in the box above. The spot offers some free, low-key fun for young children. It's a quieter spot in the otherwise busy, crowded fair (although this can get pretty crowded too!).
Saturday is UNC-TV's Just For Kids Guest Star Day at the tent. They'll be featuring characters from some of the station's popular shows for kids. Characters will appear from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday.
Here is the appearance schedule, according to UNC-TV's website:
10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.: Bob the Builder
10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.: Daniel Tiger, Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood and WordGirl
11 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.: Cat in the Hat, The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That! meet-n-greet and story time
11:30 a.m. to noon: Read-a-roo, Betsy from Betsy's Kindergarten Adventures & Charles the Chef
Noon to 12:30 p.m.: Bob the Builder
12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m.: Daniel Tiger, Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood and WordGirl
1 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.: Cat in the Hat, The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That! meet-n-greet and story time
1:30 p.m. to 2 p.m.: Bob the Builder
2 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.: Daniel Tiger, Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood and WordGirl
2:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.: Bob the Builder
UPDATE: This is actually Oct. 26. I'm so sorry for the confusion. My fault! Also scheduled on Saturday is a new addition to the tent: From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., young scientists can learn all about super small science through activities and mysterious magnet play with fun activities presented by Marbles staff. Sid the Science Kid will be greeting kids too.
