Marbles starts new fall hours this week, starts additional Baby Time

Marbles Kids Museum is making a big change to its regular schedule this fall.
The downtown Raleigh destination will now be open 9 a.m. to noon, Mondays, for family play only. No field trips or other large groups will be admitted.
Marbles tested the Monday morning family play hours this summer and they proved to be popular. In the past, Marbles was closed on Mondays except during school holidays.
The museum will continue to be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Mondays when they fall on a Wake County Public School System holiday.
Marbles members, however, should take note: The museum will no longer be open early on Wednesdays for members only.
The museum's hours will remain 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday. The museum is open until 7 p.m. on the first Friday and third Thursday of each month.
The new schedule starts this week.
In other Marbles news: There are some spots left in the museum's popular Baby Time series for babies 0 to 12 months and an adult. It's a four-week series, which began Tuesday, but continues through September on Tuesdays. The cost is $35 for non-members and $15 for members. Pre-registration is required.
This program is now in its second year. I'm told it's been so popular that Marbles staff added a second session each week. The 45-minute classes start at 9:15 a.m. More are scheduled through April. Click here for details.
