Marbles Kids Museum and the N.C. Museum of History in Raleigh and Kidzu Children's Museum in Chapel Hill have some Valentine's Day fun planned.

Kids can craft - and others can clean up the mess - during Marbles Kids Museum's Valentine's Day MakeShop. The make-and-take workshop runs 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Friday, Feb. 10, and Tuesday, Feb. 14, at the downtown Raleigh museum.

Marbles also will host I Heart to Play Day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, where visitors can learn ways to keep their heart healthy for Valentine's Day and beyond. The day includes heart healthy foods, radical recess and a bubble wrap dance party.  Marbles' activities are free with admission, which is $5 per person.

From 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, the N.C. Museum of History will host a free make it, take it program. Visitors will learn a bit about the history of Valentine's Day and then can make a valentine based on one in the museum's collection.

The science of Valentine's Day is behind the Mix It Up with Science event from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Saturday, at Kidzu. Learn all about how our heart works and then play a guessing game and design a valentine to take home. It's free with admission, which is $7.50 per person.
