Ready, Set, School opens at Marbles Kids Museum

Marbles Kids Museum will open its doors to rising kindergartners headed to year-round schools Thursday.

Kick-Off to Kindergarten is 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, at the downtown Raleigh museum. It's a chance for those big kids to mark the milestone and practice things like boarding a school bus, making healthy food choices in a pretend cafeteria and participating in circle time and recess. The event is free and open to rising kindergartners and their families.

School in Wake County starts July 7 for many Wake County year-round students.

Another Kick-off to Kindergarten will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Aug. 16, for rising kindergartners attending traditional calendar schools.
