Marbles' Gingerbread Jamboree features Candy Cottage houses

Posted December 7, 2016

The reusable gingerbread house is made by The Candy Cottage, based on Rocky Mount.

Marbles Kids Museum's Gingerbread Jamboree is this weekend and it features one of the businesses on our Made by Mom Gift Guide - The Candy Cottage.

This week, I featured the two moms behind the business, which sells reusable gingerbread houses. The plastic houses can be decorated with candy and then cleaned off for storage until the next holiday - or whenever candy-related creativity strikes!

As part of Marbles' event, participants can buy one of the cottages to decorate at the event and then take home and keep. The cost is $20 per house and $15 per participant. I'm told some families share one house; others get individual houses for each of the kids.

The morning session is sold out, but there are some slots left for the 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., Saturday, session.

Details are on Marbles' website. You'll want to buy your tickets online before you go.
