RALEIGH, N.C. — Hillsborough-based Maple View Farm has voluntarily recalled several ice cream varieties because the products contain allergens not declared on package labels, state officials said Friday.

The North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services said the pint containers of Cookies and Cream, Carolina Crunch and Cookie Dough may contain wheat, soy, almonds and peanuts, which can cause serious reactions in people who have an allergy or sensitivity to the ingredients.

The recall affects 2,650 pints distributed between Sept. 5 and April 24. The products were distributed to a limited number of grocery stores and specialty shops in Carrboro, Chapel Hill, Durham, Hillsborough, Mebane, Morehead City, Morrisville, Pittsboro, Snow Camp and Wilmington.

Maple View Farm initiated the recall after a label review during a routine inspection by the department. No complaints of allergic reactions have been reported.

Consumers who have the recalled products should return them the place of purchase or throw them away.
