Man, woman arrested in fatal Selma shooting

A 27-year-old Raleigh man and 22-year-old Selma woman have been charged in the October shooting death of Marquel Williams, a 29-year-old who died several days after being shot on East Nobel Street.

SELMA, N.C. — A 27-year-old Raleigh man and 22-year-old Selma woman have been charged in the October shooting death of Marquel Williams, a 29-year-old who died several days after being shot on East Nobel Street.

Investigators say Williams was shot at about 10:30 a.m. on Oct. 12. He died Oct. 16.

Robert Lewis Jackson is charged with first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a felon in the case.

Naomi Diedra McDaniel, of 3004 Michelle Dr., Selma, is charged with accessory after the fact and altering, stealing or destroying criminal evidence.

No other information about the shooting has been released.
