Man wanted in Fayetteville shooting death

Police were searching Monday for a Fayetteville man in connection with a slaying at a local nightclub in March.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Police were searching Monday for a Fayetteville man in connection with a slaying at a local nightclub in March.

Anthony Antonio Davis, 25, whose last known address was 312 Hawthorne Road, is wanted in the March 18 shooting death of Laparis Lamon "P-stro" Whitfield.

Whitfield, 34, and another man were shot at Club 26 Nightclub, at 5242 Murchison Road. The second man suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Davis, who is considered armed and dangerous, also goes by the nicknames “Gap” and “Goat” and is known to frequent the lower Ramsey Street, Murchison Road and Hillsboro Street areas as well as the Mary, North, Moore and Orange Street areas.

Anyone with information on Davis' whereabouts is asked to call Fayetteville police detectives at 910-433-1856 or Crime Stoppers at 910-483-TIPS.
