Man wanted in Fayetteville sexual assault

Fayetteville police investigators are looking for a man wanted in connection with a kidnapping and sexual assault that happened late Sunday night.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Fayetteville police are looking for a man wanted in connection with a kidnapping and sexual assault that happened late Sunday night, investigators said Friday.

A woman told police she was on Person Street around 11 p.m. that night when a man drove up to her, forced her into his car at gunpoint and drove to another location.

The woman was able to get away from the man and reported the crime to police on Wednesday.

Investigators are looking for a clean-shaven Hispanic man, who stands approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighs about 200 pounds.

He was driving a mid-1990s faded-red Mercury Cougar, police said.
