FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Fayetteville police are searching for a suspect in the stabbing death of a 40-year-old man after a dispute at his house Saturday evening.

Terry Lee Broussard Jr., 25, of 114 Cumberland St., faces first-degree murder charges in the death of Ronnell Wright, 40.

Police said officers were called out to a dispute between neighbors and some guests at Wright's house at 2521 Vestal Ave. around 8:25 p.m. Officers calmed the situation down and cleared the scene, but about 15 minutes later, another 911 call came in from the same address.

Officers found Wright lying in a carport. He had been stabbed in the abdomen and died while being transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, police said.

Broussard remains at large Sunday afternoon.

Anyone with information on Broussard's whereabouts should call Crime Stoppers at 919-483-8477 or the Fayetteville Police Homicide Unit at 919-433-1871. Crime Stoppers pays cash rewards in certain felony cases, and callers never have to identify themselves.

According to state Department of Correction records, Broussard was convicted of manslaughter and two counts of armed robbery in Cumberland County in 2004. He was released in December 2008.
