Man wanted in Durham shooting arrested
Durham police have arrested a man who, along his neighbor, faces charges in connection with a November shooting.
Posted — UpdatedMarkee Rashad Townes, 18, of 405 E. Pilot St., was arrested Thursday. He and Lemuel Ward, 18, of 412 E. Pilot St., were named as suspects last week in a Nov. 30, 2010, shooting in the parking lot of Ward's apartment complex.
The victim, a 21-year-old man, was critically injured.
Townes was placed in the Durham County jail under a $530,000 bond. Ward was being held under a $500,000 bond.
Both men face charges of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and felony conspiracy.
State Department of Correction records show that Townes has a single previous misdemeanor conviction for simple assault.
