Police are searching for the man responsible for a shooting that occurred near a Fayetteville Burger King Saturday morning.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Police are searching for the man responsible for a shooting that occurred near a Fayetteville Burger King Saturday morning.

Police said that officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Eastern Boulevard at 10:07 a.m. Saturday in reference to a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, they found Antonio Lavon Campbell Jr., 22, of the 4200 block of Dowfiield Drive lying on the ground near the Burger King located at 344 Eastern Blvd.

Campbell, who had several gunshot wounds, was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center where he was listed in critical condition Sunday, police said.

Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Aggravated Assault Unit have identified Lamarious Ja Ron Brown, 18, of the 1100 block of Southern Avenue as a person of interest in connection with the incident. He is currently being sought by police for questioning.

On Tuesday, Brown was charged with attempted first degree murder.
