RALEIGH, N.C. — A man wanted in connection with a knife attack on a Raleigh woman 12 years ago was arrested Tuesday in Texas, authorities said.

Michael Hodge, 44, was arrested in Joshua, Texas, outside Fort Worth, by U.S. marshals. He has been charged by Raleigh police with felony assault.

Hodge was wanted in connection with an Aug. 5, 1995, assault on a woman. The woman leaped from a moving car after she was threatened with a knife, and an assailant chased after her and cut her throat, face and hand, authorities said. The woman was able to stop a passing motorist for assistance, and she required 36 staples in her throat and 12 staples in her face to treat her injuries.
