FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A man suspected of shooting at two Cumberland County deputies at a Waffle House in Fayetteville two weeks ago has been apprehended, police said Wednesday.

Donquiez Frankie Wilbridge, 24, of Weeping Willow Way, was taken into custody Tuesday at a Motel 6 on Cedar Creek Road. He is charged with three counts each of assault with a dangerous weapon with intent to kill and possession of a firearm by a felon, two counts of assault on a law enforcement officer with a firearm and one count of discharging a weapon into an occupied vehicle.

Authorities said two deputies were working off-duty at a Waffle House on Yadkin Road on Dec. 2 when someone fired several shots at them before fleeing. The deputies weren't injured.
