RALEIGH, N.C. — U.S. marshals on Wednesday arrested a man wanted in connection with a slaying in New Jersey last summer, authorities said.

Jamar Ments, 21, of 172 William St. in East Orange, N.J., is charged with homicide and weapons offenses in connection with a homicide that occurred in East Orange on Aug. 11, 2006, authorities said. He is being held in the Wake County Jail pending extradition to New Jersey.

Marshals in New Jersey learned two weeks ago that Ments might be in the Raleigh area. Local marshals determined he was staying in an apartment in the area of Sunnybrook Drive, and they arrested him Wednesday morning at 1611 Thoroughbred Lane.
