Man tries to rob Durham bank

— Durham police said a man tried to rob a Wachovia bank at 2000 W. Main St. late Saturday morning.

Poilce said the man gave a teller a note demanding money, and when the teller didn't respond immediately, he grabbed the note and fled without taking any money.

He fled the area on foot.

No arrests have been made, and investigators continue to work the scene, police said.

    It should be standard operating procedures for all tellers to not respond to the note and just continue about their business. They should also be instructed to give a crazy look like the one your mom would give when you were doing something you weren't supposed to.

    rlt - you would think that if the police wanted help finding this robber that we'd have been provided a description. Certainly the teller saw his face.

    At least he had the sense to take his note back so they'd have trouble finger-printing him.
