A man with life-threatening injuries was sent to the hospital early Tuesday morning after being shot at a Fayetteville residence.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A man with life-threatening injuries was sent to the hospital early Tuesday morning after being shot at a Fayetteville residence.

Fayetteville police responded just after midnight to a home in the 600 block of Ashbrook Court in reference to the shooting. When officers arrived, they found the victim who was shot near the front door of the residence, officials said.

The man, who was not identified by police, was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. Authorities said the shooting does not appear to be random.
